As part of the Wilderness Survival merit badge , Troop 226 traveled to the wilderness of Camp Jackson, located aproximately 5 miles east of Scottsboro on highway 40, just off Highway 35 on the Tennessee River at Jones Cove. Ten scouts and three adults braved the cold and were delighted that the primitive campsite was located near a bath house, with indoor plumbing, hot water, and flush toilets. The scouts built their shelter and slept overnight in it, they started fires, and completed merit badge course material. |
