MEETINGS![]() Troop 226 usually meets every Monday from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm in the Scout Hut located in the rear parking lot of our sponsoring organization, St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church , located at 2061 Patton Chapel Rd in Hoover Alabama . Meeting activities are planned by the Scouts and include learning outdoor skills, working on merit badges, planning trips and other projects of interest to the Scouts. TROOP OUTINGSScouting includes frequent outings and we do an outing every month except for December. The outings include backpacking, biking, canoeing, caving, climbing, rafting, skiing and many other fun troop building activities.
SUMMER CAMPTroop 226 usually spends the first week of June at Camp Sequoyah camping in tents and enjoying the many challenges and adventures offered at this established Boy Scout camp. Wednesday nights are highlighted by a visit from our troop families who bring dinner and good cheer.
HIGH ADVENTURE Troop 226 usually takes a high adventure outing in the summer. Our high adventures go to places like Philmont , Northern Tier , Seabase , Yellowstone and the Buffalo River . FUND RAISING
Troop 226 participates in a couple of fund raising activities to help the boys earn money for their outings, and to support the activities of the troop. In July, the scouts take down the flags lining Route 31 in Vestavia Hills. In November and December the troop works the ChristmasTree Lot in Vestavia Hills as a member of the Over the Mountain Scouts. In October and November, the troop sells Trails End Popcorn.
